Our 20th Birthday Walk
It was a walk with a difference and 46 members and friends of the Group accompanied by two canine companions met at the Orwell pub to celebrate the Wigan and District's Group's 20th Anniversary. Part of the programme was a walk of 4 miles led by Frank Atherton along the Leeds - Liverpool Canal towards Poolstock and around parts of Westwood and Pearson Flashes on paths that very few of the group had previously walked.
Returning to the Orwell we were joined by another 9 people and enjoyed a light meal, drinks and a birthday cake, provided by Frieda Lyon, The proceedings were wrapped up with a disharmonious rendition of "Happy Birthday to Us"!
